How to mark a property on the global map

Place a property pin on MarkMyProperty: search a location, move the pin, review address and area, and choose a marked, sale or rental record with public or private visibility.

By MarkMyProperty · Updated

Choose a point or a drawn outline

Open Mark Property for Free and sign in when prompted. In Location, choose Drop a pin when one point can identify the place. A pin can locate an apartment building, but its description still needs to identify the offered unit. Choose Draw the boundary when an outline helps explain a plot or building footprint; follow the separate drawing tutorial linked below.

A map point or user-drawn shape communicates the location supplied by the lister. It is not a cadastral survey, ownership verification or proof of legal access. Do not use the marker alone to settle the extent of a parcel.

Search, then check and move the pin

In Drop a pin mode, enter an address, area or landmark in Search address, area or landmark and select Find. A search result places the pin and fills location information. Tap the map again to move the pin if the result points to a town centre or a nearby place rather than the property.

Compare the pin with the entrance, surrounding roads and written location before selecting Next. Map view switches from satellite imagery to a road map; Satellite view switches back. Use my location is optional and only useful when you are at the property. If location permission is blocked, search instead. The website location form lets you review country, region and place details rather than accepting a search result blindly.

Add details that help someone compare the property

Choose the property type and listing purpose. Enter the price, currency and area or size required by the listing flow. For rent, explain the rental period in the description so the asking amount can be understood. Keep all price information consistent.

Use a descriptive title and original details: what is being offered, how access works, what the area measurement represents, and which facilities are included. Upload photographs you have permission to use. Do not place private phone numbers or email addresses in public text.

Choose marked, sale or rental purpose

A marked property records a location and its details. A sale listing tells visitors it is offered for purchase; a rental listing tells them it is offered for rent. These purposes are separate from the public or private visibility setting.

Sale and rental listings require a supported contact or inquiry route. Review the summary and any validation messages before saving. Publicly visible listings can appear in discovery; a private property should remain accessible through its owner account.

Change a property later

Open My Properties and edit the property you own. Use the purpose controls to change a marked property to sale or rent, or switch between sale and rent. Recheck the amount, currency, area and contact requirements when changing purpose.

If the property is no longer offered, update its purpose or visibility as appropriate. Keeping public details current helps other users avoid contacting an owner about an outdated offer.

Check your published listing

Open the public property page and confirm its purpose, map position, area and asking amount. Check that the description can stand on its own without a reader guessing essential details. Contact information is handled through the platform contact workflow rather than being included in public listing text.

To explore other locations, return to the global map or browse by country. The map can cover places beyond the countries currently represented in public listings.

Frequently asked questions

How do I mark my property on a map?

Sign in and open Mark Property for Free. In Location, choose Drop a pin, search the address or tap the actual spot, and check the written location before continuing through the property details and publication steps.

Can I move the property pin after searching an address?

Yes. In pin mode, tap the map again to move the pin. Check it against the entrance and written location before continuing. Edit an existing record through My Properties rather than creating a duplicate.

Is a marked property automatically for sale?

No. Just mark it records a place. Choose Sell it or Rent it out for an offer, and select public visibility if you want it discovered publicly. Purpose and visibility are separate settings.

Does placing a pin calculate the property area?

No. A pin records one point rather than a shape. Enter the property area with its unit and measurement source. A user-drawn outline can calculate an orientation area, but it does not replace a survey.
